Our Team
Jocelyn Yurina
Lead Teacher/Director
Jocelyn joined Community Montessori in the summer of 2007. She is an IMC certified teacher and has worked in Montessori schools for nearly three decades. Her love of nature and animals is an integral part of her teaching. She took on the role of Director in the spring of 2025.

Helen Herrera
Co-Teacher for the Indoor Environment
Helen is a Phoenix native and mother of two. She began working at Community Montessori School in 2010. Helen has a Bachelors in Education and 14 years total Montessori experience. Her creativity and art background is seen in the inventive and beautiful arts and crafts projects in the classroom.

Jaime Gittner
Outdoor Lead Teacher
Jaime started working at Community Montessori in the spring of 2017, but she is not new to the community. Jaime is the mother to two beautiful children who are former students here.
She maintains responsibility for the patio while assisting inside when needed as well.

Dulce Villa
Outside Co Teacher
Dulce joined us for the 2020/2021 school year. She is a mother to three. Working with Ms. Jaime she spends most of her time on the patio and has helped to implement Spanish language lessons during summer school. We will be growing our Spanish lessons into the new 2025/26 school year.

Elisa Pena
Assistant Teacher
Ms. Elisa joined our team in the spring of 2022. She took ROP preschool classes in High School and plans to continue pursuing Montessori education in the future. She has implemented Montessori in the home with her own children.

Mr. Richard does a little bit of everything, from keeping the morning bike riding safe, to fixing materials.
